After more than a decade of planning and years of construction, Sydney’s newest airport, Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton), is rapidly transitioning from a construction megaproject into a fully operational aviation gateway for Greater Western Sydney and beyond.
Major civil works across the airport — including the runway, taxiways, terminal shell and landside infrastructure — are now complete. With the physical build wrapped up, the focus has shifted to systems testing, internal fit-outs and operational readiness as airlines and staff prepare for first flights.
The airport is currently on track to open in October 2026.
Western Sydney International isn’t just about planes and passengers — it’s the centrepiece of a broader aerotropolis vision that will drive long-term economic growth across the region. This includes:
It is shaping up to be one of the most transformative infrastructure projects in Australia’s history — reshaping how people travel and how Western Sydney connects to the world.

Allam has several developments within reach of the new airport:
These communities are positioned close enough to access future employment growth while still offering the lifestyle appeal that families seek — space, established amenities and connection to Sydney’s evolving south-west corridor.
As Western Sydney continues its transformation, Allam’s projects are contributing to housing choice across key growth areas, giving buyers the opportunity to secure a home in a region on the rise.
