Farewell to Ray: Celebrating 30 Years of Dedication and Generosity

After nearly three decades with Allam, Ray Debono is ready to hang up his hat and bid farewell to the team. Ray has been the cornerstone of the Allam family, witnessing the company weather countless storms and celebrate triumphs. As we prepare to say our farewells, we can't help but feel a tinge of sadness, knowing Allam won't be the same without him.

In his role as Purchasing Manager, Ray's been the master negotiator, striking deals with suppliers that have been crucial to Allam's success, especially during tough times. His knack for building long-lasting relationships has been a cornerstone of our operations. He even managed to arrange for Paul Taylor from Harvey Norman Commercial to deliver doughnuts to the office for the Allam staff every time he stopped in for a meeting.

But Ray's impact stretches beyond work. For the past 14 years, he's been a tireless fundraiser for Oxfam, hitting the trails in Australia and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for those in need. You can donate to his cause here.

Ray has also been an avid rower, putting together a team for Corporate Dragon Boat Racing as part of the Sydney Lunar Year Celebrations in past years. It took some arm-twisting, but he convinced his fellow employees to join him on this endeavour.

As Ray prepares for the next chapter of his life, we envision him and his beloved wife, Jo, embarking on new journeys, basking in the joys of retirement, and cherishing precious moments with their grandchildren.
